What is PBIS?

PBIS means students will know exactly what is expected of them in the school setting. Students who take responsibility to behave positively will be recognized and rewarded in a variety of ways.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an approach to teaching and supporting positive behaviors and meeting the needs of ALL students. This school-wide approach to discipline focuses on building a safe and positive environment in which all students can learn.

The mission of the CRE PBIS Team is to build and strengthen relationships between students, faculty, and parents, in an effort to ensure positive and successful outcomes.

The foundation of PBIS at Cedar Ridge centers around 4 school-wide expectations:

  • Be Prepared

  • Be Polite

  • Be Positive

  • Show Pride

Hoot Loot

It is our desire to encourage appropriate behavior. One way that we change inappropriate behavior is to acknowledge and reinforce positive behavior. Students who meet the behavior expectations will receive a Hoot Loot from a staff member. Hoot Loot can be used to purchase various classroom incentives as well as items from the Hootie Store.
